My Journey...

Daily ramblings of an Endometriosis survivor, possible MS sufferer, wife and Mommy of 2 precious little girls...but more so lately, a place to complain because I just don't feel good.

Mommy's Day!!!

Mother's Day 2007 is in the books now, and it was a GREAT one.

We had been planning to go out to lunch somewhere nice, but everything was either too pricey or booked up. I decided to just have the Mothers come over to my house for lunch, instead. This worked out really well. The night before, I had made Gazpacho and Salad for us to have (so that I wouldn't have to cook that day), and Mom picked up a bucket of chicken for the guys to eat. The weather was PERFECT - very sunny, 70 degrees, slightly breezy - so we spent most of our time outside.

My Mom gave me a $25 Mastercard gift certificate and some Oolong loose-leaf tea (ie, Chinese tea - my favorite), a tea ball and a new tea mug.

Phil did EXCELLENT and scored MAJOR brownie points. He had a book made for me with pictures of Maddie and Mackenzie from birth through now. It's a really nice leather-bound book that has the pictures laid out and printed on the pages in the book. When he gave it to me, he handed me the giftbag and said, "Here's your gift...I'm going to McDonald's now to get your breakfast." He KNEW that I would sit there and cry while looking at the book - and I did. I think I've already looked at it 50 times...it's just such a wonderful gift!

I spent the day talking with my Mom, Mother-in-law and my Grandmother and playing with the girls. I couldn't have asked for a nicer day! Then, to top it all off, I got to watch the Survivor: Fiji finale and reunion show all night last night!!! YAY! What a day!! : )

Everything else is well...work is steady, I'm feeling fairly well, no one is sick right now, etc. Oh, I DO have to share what my dear little Mackenzie got into on Friday.

Yep...that's my lipstick...all over her face, her hands, my carpet and my walls! Fun times.

Also, a few other things...Maddie's preschool class had a Mother's Day tea on Friday, and it was SO nice. The kids served refreshments to their Mommies, we got a little gift (a hand-painted clay pot with a flower in it), and we heard a story that brought us ALL to tears ("I Love You This Much" - the kids sang the tag line in the story to us afterward, which was incredibly sweet!).

We are getting ready to dive into a whole BUNCH of home improvement projects, so I'm sure this blog will turn into my place for before and after pictures. We bought Pergo laminate (like wood) flooring for our downstairs, and it was delivered yesterday. I can't wait to get it down!! Also on the list...expanding our deck out back, painting Mackenzie's room (Soft Lilac), painting our master bathroom, and tiling our master bathroom.

Whew...I'd better get busy!

A "Grumpy" Monday Funny

Just a little funny that I got via e-mail over the weekend. Thought it would be a nice "Monday" thing to post:

9 Things I Hate About Everyone

1. People who point at their wrist while asking for the time.... I know where my watch is pal, where the hell is yours? Do I point at my crotch when I ask where the toilet is?

2. People who are willing to get off their ass to search the entire room for the T.V. remote because they refuse to walk to the T.V. and change the channel manually.

3. When people say 'Oh you just want to have your cake and eat it too'. Damn right! What good is cake if you can't eat it?

4. When people say 'it's always the last place you look'. Of course it is. Why the hell would you keep looking after you've found it? Do people do this? Who and where are they? Gonna Kick their asses!

5. When people say while watching a film 'did you see that?'. No Loser, I paid $12 to come to the cinema and stare at the damn floor.

6. People who ask 'Can I ask you a question?'.... Didn't really give me a choice there, did ya sunshine? 7. When something is 'new and improved!' Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.

7. When something is 'new and improved!' Which is it? If it's new, then there has never been anything before it. If it's an improvement, then there must have been something before it, couldn't be new.

8. When people say 'life is short'. What the hell?? Life is the longest damn thing anyone ever does!! What can you do that's longer?

9. When you are waiting for the bus and someone asks 'Has the bus come yet?'. If the bus came would I be standing here, dumbass?

Hee Hee!!! :)
